These meetings should happen as early in prep as possible. They are meant to give HODs the knowledge needed to go into tech scouts and logistics meetings with the ability and confidence to make decisions, book rentals, and train their extended department.
It is crucial that HODs are not only held accountable for embracing the information and resources provided to them but they are also supported in their use of those resources. Support may come in the form of allowing for extra time to "play" and make the ideas their own, permission to try something unconventional and/or approval to spend upfront costs when there's likely to be savings as a result.
This option is effective for a well-oiled crew that has worked together previously to build the trust and communication required to shift workflows cohesively.
Includes:
• 1-hour consultations and customized follow-up recommendations for each of the following Department HODs: Transportation, Electric, Locations and Production.
Requires:
• Follow-up and enforcement of action items by internal production personnel.
• Internal production personnel to ensure sustainability conversations are had on tech scouts.
• Internal production personnel to ensure sustainability conversions are had in logistics meetings.
• Non-consecutive starts earlier in prep for key players like generator operators, drivers and rigging gaffers.
